CELEBRATING 33 YEARS
1978 to 2011
The California Association of Labor Relations Officers (CALRO) is celebrating its 33rd anniversary. Since its inception, CALRO has been dedicated to providing training and resources to aid all law enforcement officers in the handling of labor disputes in an impartial and professional manner.
As we step into 2011, we continue to face tough economic times. Due to budget constraints many of us are forced to do more with less. It has already proved to be an even busier year than years past. The mission of CALRO is to continue to advance forward, educating newly assigned personnel on how to handle labor disputes properly.
Last years conference was attended by approximately 78 law enforcement officers from agencies throughout California. The speakers were informative and the networking relationships that were established are crucial to how we continue to do business. It is imperative that we provide up to date information on case laws and court decisions.
On December 12, 2010, the CALRO family suffered a major loss. CALRO’s Vice-President Kent Carter was killed in a traffic accident. Kent was a passionate Officer with LAPD, husband, father, grandfather and friend. We all have those special memories that we will never forget and we will continue to do the work that meant so much to him.
This year’s annual conference will be held at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert, California on June 1 – 3, 2011.
Please join me this year in my commitment to better our organization and continue to help it grow.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me or one of our directors.
Be Safe,
CALRO President
